Leadership Development - Reasons It Doesn’t Work

So you are back in action at the office and raring to put what you have learnt at the leaders development program into action. Much to your dismay, you need to talk to people who need guidance before you do anything else at the office. There are papers to sign and things to do and loose ends to tie up. Needless to say, any normal person gets caught up with this kind of work, especially after a slight absence from work. But the downside is, when all this does happen then no one remembers the leadership fine tuning program, not even those who attended it and we don’t mean to say they are selfish, work is just like that.

Who is to blame in these situations? Is it the speaker at the leadership development program? Or is it the person who lost his cool once he got back to work? Well, let us say they are partners in crime. Without a plan, nothing does ever seem to work in life, and that holds true with work plans as well. If you do not have a plan of action then any lecture you hear will be a waste of time. As leader of people, it is up to you to get information on how to do better for you company form the speaker and make a plan of action out of it to be a better leader to your subordinates.

Let us conclude by saying that no leader is either born overnight or made overnight at a leadership development program. Still, a good leader, or he who strives to be one, will take in all information when the opportunity presents itself, on how to be a better leader. Next comes the task of breaking the information down into segments and then working towards them with your team.
