Can you answer djdenyer’s question about Leadership Development?:
I have applied for a job in the RAF as a Weapon Systems Operator and it requires you to have leadership qualities, I believe I have these skills but what can I do to meet the criteria they expect.

Just my thoughts…
I think it’s important to obtain an objective opinion from someone who can properly give you feedback on things you’re doing well and the opportunties for improvement.
This should help you lay out a game plan of next directions.
I think that without some form of evaluation, you’re kinda of shooting in the dark.
Leadership Development Feedback: Take charge of things. Be in control of a team and lead them to success. Nothing screams “i have leadership” like setting goals for your team and showing them how to reach it!
I would go there, enter in your information so you can see the video, and it explains it all from there. However, the real fun begins when you get the ball rollin’ and your first check comes, and then the next and so on. When you get started, I will walk you through the process step by step if needed just to make sure you are successful. (Please keep in mind; this is NOT a get rich quick scheme.) If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Hope This Helps and Good Luck!
Leadership Development Feedback: You have to have confidence in yourself. In your dress, in the way you carry yourself, in your speech, you have to have the look and manner of a leader.
A true leader does not use degrading language on those who are his subordinates.
In your interview, show true confidence in yourself, but not self adoration.
Leadership Development Feedback: Identify someone whose leadership skills you admire and then emulate him/her.
Leadership Development Feedback: There are many different leadership skills. You could be one that has new ideas to help the company. You could have skills in people, knowing what is their best efforts or getting them to do their best efforts. A lot of companies what a leader that is not just strict on rules and regulations but can get in there with all employees and come up with ideas that benefits both. This will help the company grow.
Leadership Development Feedback: Join toastmasters!
Not only will your local toastmaster club teach you about leadership skills, but public speeches and inpromptu speaking as well. Without a doubt, toastmasters is the best personal improvement group available.
A book that I recommend is “Leadership” by Rudolph Guilianni (Mayor of NYC during the 9-11 attack).
Leadership Development Feedback: Go find a Franklin Covey course online and take it if you are serious about getting ahead.

Leadership Development Feedback: stop wearing funny hats
Leadership Development Feedback: the main thing in Leadership skills is to practice the art of it..
Leadership Development Feedback: 1st you must call them a couple days after the interview you have with them to let them know that you are still very interested in the position you applied for.
2nd Once you get the job always take the initiative to get work done. Let them see that you don’t have to be told what to do and when to do it.
3rd always be informative in your job. Don’t just know what you’re talking about when it comes to your job, understand what you’re talking about. If they see that you completely understand the ins and outs of your job you’ll be promoted over others.
Good Luck!
Leadership Development Feedback: Toastmasters.
Find a mentor.
Leadership Development Feedback: I know that leadership entails using other people’s internal motivations to induce them to want to do what you want them to do. Much of leadership is inherently natural. Look at the filmstock of JFK. He just naturally had it. Some of it can be learned and developed with practice. But some of it is just having the luck to naturally connect with other people.
Leadership Development Feedback: make sure you dont put something on an employee that u wouldnt do yourself.that was one of my biggest things when i was in managent.i never expected someone to something i wouldnt.i also believe in training everyone to do all sorts of jobs that way they can move up to your positon and you can move up to your bosses.im also big on multi tasking and making sure it all gets done right that doesnt mean that i would do it all myself but getting it done as a team.be secure in your postion but dont act like your better than everyone else because you were there once yourself.leading people is a great opportunity to grow enjoy it and congratulations on your new postiton
Leadership Development Feedback: Leadership is one of those skills that really comes best with experience. That said, there are many classes and seminars that you can attend that key on leadership such as project management. Try to enroll with an established course provider too, like IBM or a major University where the credentials will score points for you. Take on any responsibilities that lean toward a leadership role. It all counts. And be able to speak up and stand behind your opinions and decisions. That is most obvious to a manager looking for a leader on his or her team.
Leadership Development Feedback: I recommend reading Stephen Covey’s book, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
Leadership Development Feedback: Many ways… a couple of them are
1) Put yourself into a leadership role that will force you to make decisions based one what’s best for your subordinates. Immersion training is highly effective.
2) Get yourself into a position that is “2nd in command”. You will not be ultimately responsible for the fate of your suborinates, but you will be working with someone that is and hopefully gaining understanding while building skills required to be a leader, even at the subconscious level (manorisms, etc..).
Hope this helps!
Leadership Development Feedback: The United States Marines. We are recognized the world over and are known stricty for our leadership capabilities. For instance, the fortune 500 companies. Nearly 40% of those top corporations like Chairmans and CEO’s are former Marines. That is a fact. When it comes to leadership, Marines do not fail.
Leadership Development Feedback: By improving upon your communication skills (that always helps, and you must listen to people before you can lead them).
::: Peace :::
Leadership Development Feedback: 1.Begin with praise and honest appreciation.
2.Call attention to people’s mistakes indirectly.
3.Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person.
4.Ask questions instead of giving direct orders.
5.Let the other person save face.
6.Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be “hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise.”
7.Give the other person a fine reputation to live up to.
8.Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct.
9.Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest.
Leadership Development Feedback: ONLY YOU can answer that. Ask yourself why, where wil you like to be in 5 years, and my take…..”Listening is the better part of conversation….” ~ through watching peole communicate you see so very much. Listen…..not every pause need be filled.
Once yu learn the heart of another, you know a bit of their best and can help bringit out to the advantage of an army, a home, a schoool, a life…..a heart. Then you see their full potential.
Concluding….this page has some extremely sound ideas, in fact they ALL say something……special.
Leadership Development Feedback: The single best advice I have ever been given about that subject is as follows.
Make sure you are a leader and not a driver.
Leadership Development Feedback: to improve your leadership skills
first be a skillful follower
Leadership Development Feedback: Here’s some suggestions:
Read books.
Attend leadership seminars.
Volunteer to lead projects.
Join a youth organization, and volunteer for a leadership position.
Any of these can help you develop the skills you need.
Leadership Development Feedback: Take a little more than your fair share of the blame and a little less than your fair share of the credit.
Leadership Development Feedback: Get the book “One Minute Manager”. It’s fast — easy — and effective to get you up to speed managing people (at least from the know how end of things). But the ONLY real way to become effective is to gain experience. Good luck and be well.
Leadership Development Feedback: Take a course of human relations and communication skills. Those are the most powerfull tools you’ll ever need.
Leadership Development Feedback: Get involved with the Boy Scouts of America Program
Leadership Development Feedback: just try leading
