Which workplace situation BEST illustrates the similarities & differences of leadership & management?

Can you answer Naomi’s question about Leadership Development?:

Our group has been assigned an oral presentation.

The professor says that it has to be about one specific & contemporary workplace situation that will best illustrate the similarities & differences between leadership & management.

She hasn’t given any example, though. Please help us. THANKS A WHOLE LOT.

Leadership Development Feedback: How about the TV Writer’s strike?

    Similarities:
    1) TV executives lead the company & manage the employees, both
    2) TV execs decide pay as leader & manager
    3) TV execs make decisions about hiring & firing
    4) TV execs make policy decisions

    Differences:
    1) Having a union strike shows that managing the writers does not necessarily show leadership of them
    2) The strike shows the writers didn’t feel the execs had leadership authority over them.
    3) The strike showed the writers felt more autonomy than being led by TV executives as leaders over them.
    4) Good leaders would be able to discuss situations with employees & not have strikes
